A clean sweep at FESPA Awards 2019

We are thrilled to announce that The Look Company won for the fourth year in a row at FESPA Awards 2019. This time we received Gold for the outstanding work that our North American office did for Roughriders as part of rebranding their Mosaic Stadium in Saskatchewan.

We took home a Sliver Award for the beautiful branding done by our Middle East office for Shop Qatar – Design District Expo promoted by the National Tourism Authority in Qatar. And a Bronze Award for the visual engagement work done for the Qatar ExxonMobil Open tennis tournament held by the Qatar Tennis Federation as part of the 2019 ATP World Tour.

The Look Company received the awards at FESPA’s annual Gala Dinner, which took place on Wednesday 15 May at Löwenbräukeller in Munich, Germany, during FESPA Global Print Expo 2019.

Our Winning Projects

Gold Winner: Mosaic Stadium & Saskatchewan Roughriders Branding

To create a venue branding solution for Canada’s 30,000 seat mosaic stadium The Look Company turned to tensioned fabric light boxes where multiple panels were installed with even light distribution using B1 FR regulated polyester. An ingenious countdown clock was created using players helmets, which were all wired to a custom programmed control model and connected to a miniature computer that would power the lights to show the correct time. In total, more than 150,000 square feet, 80% of which was backlit, was printed.

Silver Winner: Printed Textile For Shop Qatar – Design District

Shop Qatar, a fashion and lifestyle show, sought to create a small city in an exhibition hall with wooden built structures up to 6 meters high. These were stretched and wrapped in dye-sub polyester, sewn and mounted across this large expanse of nearly 16,000 square meters.

Bronze Winner: Visual Engagement For Qatar Exxon Mobil Open

From a challenging brief where the client required matching colors to RAL specifications, it was imperative to consistently match a vibrant blue throughout the stadium. Using dye sublimation on polyester, UV roll-to-roll and UV direct to media on rigid boards, this project required color matching across all output devices. The outside of the stadium was also dressed in vibrant, attention-grabbing images.
